About Amorino
Amorino is the Covent Garden branch of the Italian gelato chain, trading on Garrick Street a short walk west of the piazza and best known for serving gelato in the shape of a rose. Staff arrange your chosen flavours into overlapping petals on a cone or in a cup, finishing each order by hand rather than pre-scooping, and you can mix as many flavours as you like regardless of size.
The brand's tagline, gelato al naturale, sums up the approach: natural gelato and sorbets made without artificial colours or flavourings, sold under the cherub-and-rose mark that appears on every Amorino shopfront across Europe. The Covent Garden shop follows the full group range, so the counter runs to ice creams and sorbets, sundaes and milkshakes, gelato macarons, crepes and waffles, hot drinks, gelato cakes and Italian pastries.
Late-night Italian gelato on Garrick Street
What sets this branch apart locally is the clock. It opens at 10.30am on weekdays and 10am at weekends, and stays open until 1am from Monday to Thursday and 1.30am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which makes it one of the very few places in the area serving Italian gelato after the theatres let out. The rose-shaped gelato is the signature, but the gelato macarons and the crepes and waffles give you something to order on a cold night when a cone does not appeal.
What to expect on a visit
Seating inside is limited to a couple of stools, with a few outdoor seats, so most visitors take their gelato to go and walk it round to the piazza. Portions lean towards quality over volume, and the freedom to combine flavours is as much part of the appeal as the presentation. Delivery is available through Uber Eats and Deliveroo if you would rather skip a busy queue. It is one of several dessert shops in Covent Garden, with Anita Gelato on Upper St Martin's Lane a few minutes north for a second opinion on gelato in Covent Garden.

Had an amazing experience at Amorino Gelato! The gelato was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. A special shoutout to Gaurav, who gave exceptional service — friendly, patient, and made excellent recommendations. He truly made the visit extra special. Highly recommend this place if you’re around Covent Garden
We normally purchase from Ealing and Camden and always impressed by their attention to detail. Not sure if the male staff member was tired, but he appeared to be very nonchalant & unprofessional, mumbling with female staff in frustration. Prior to me he served customers & in a non caring way stated their icecream was melting therefore he did his best, it did not look like it had melted & presentation was poor. I Ordered and paid for icecream, selected the order of my flavours. When placing icecream he did his own thing & couldn’t be bothered with presentation. When I expressed he insisted it was what I ordered, looked at order & realised differently and said the flavours are correct. Second icecream was done by the lady, she put the wrong flavour and I told her whilst she was placing it on cone….first she insisted it was correct then when asked to see the order…guy came over read the order & told her it was incorrect…she was not happy, threw it away and started again. Picture includes the beautiful presentation that the guy could not be bothered with!
Delicious icecream. The lady serving was really friendly and made us a beautiful flower design with the icecream. Would highly recommend
