Brooks & Brooks is an award-winning hair salon on Great Queen Street, on the Holborn side of Covent Garden between the district and the legal quarter. It is led by owners Sally Brooks and Jamie Brooks, and occupies a Grade II listed building with a pared-back, minimal interior that puts the attention on the hair.

Sally and Jamie both began their careers at Trevor Sorbie and worked their way up to artistic directors before opening their own salon on Sicilian Avenue in Holborn in 2003. Recognition came quickly: Sally has won British Hairdresser of the Year a record three times, the salon has taken London Hairdresser of the Year three times, and the team counts 35 industry awards in total. In 2019 Sally wrote and produced The Journey To My Destination, a documentary about the hairdressing industry.

The menu at this award-winning hair salon in Covent Garden covers cutting, blow drying and styling alongside a full range of colour work, including tinting, highlights, balayage, bleach and tone and custom colour. It also offers Fabriq permanent blow dry treatments, Innoluxe strengthening treatments, hair extensions and their upkeep, plus scalp treatments and head massage. Consultations are complimentary, and clients are matched to a stylist chosen for their particular specialism rather than assigned at random, so it is worth saying at the booking stage whether you want a cut, a colour change or extension work.

What to expect on a visit

The salon is dog-friendly with an easygoing atmosphere, and the team between them speak French, Bulgarian, Czech, Italian, Slovak and Portuguese, which suits the international mix Covent Garden draws. It opens Monday 9am to 6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday until 8pm, Thursday until 9pm and Saturday until 7pm, closing on Sunday.
