Crazy Pig Designs

Crazy Pig Designs has been making heavy sterling silver jewellery by hand in Covent Garden since 1992, from its shop on Shorts Gardens in the Seven Dials part of the district. The brand is known internationally for its skull rings, and its bold, sculptural silver stands well apart from the more polished, mainstream jewellers nearby.

The business is led by designer Armand Serra, who has been working in modern jewellery design since 1982. Everything is handmade in the Covent Garden workshop and carries British hallmarks, and alongside the core collections the shop produces custom pieces, limited editions and bespoke commissions, as well as resizing for existing rings.

Silver skull rings in Covent Garden

Rings are the heart of the range: silver skull rings, animal skulls, Celtic designs, fleur de lys and Tudor motifs, dragons, eyes, stone-set rings and plain bands. Around them sit bracelets, chains and necklaces, pendants with crosses, bird skulls and marine themes, and accessories including earrings, wallet chains, belt buckles, cufflinks and key rings. The shop also carries its own T-shirts and sweatshirts and sells gift vouchers. Everything is made in substantial silver, so rings and cuffs carry real weight on the hand or wrist.

What to expect on a visit

Shorts Gardens sits among the independent and design-led shops of Seven Dials, a short walk from Covent Garden Underground station and the Piazza. Trying heavier pieces in person matters, because fit and feel count as much as the look, and the team can advise on sizing and on commissioning a bespoke design. The shop trades Monday to Saturday.
