Granado

Granado is a Brazilian apothecary and personal care house with a store on Floral Street, the narrow street running behind the Royal Opera House. Founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1870 by the Portuguese-born José António Coxito, it began as a pharmacy and became supplier to Brazil's royal family, and it describes itself as the country's most traditional perfumery.

The house is known for its glycerine soaps, body lotions and creams, hand care, fragrance and grooming products, sold in heritage packaging that reflects its pharmacy origins. Fragrances such as Apotecário, Citrus Brasilis and Rosa Sublime sit alongside scented trios, gift sets and the brand's small decorative suitcases, and the store carries the body and bath lines that built its reputation at home.

The Floral Street store is one of two Granado addresses in London, with the other on the King's Road, and it is the house's foothold in the Covent Garden beauty quarter. The fit-out follows the brand's traditional pharmacy styling, and staff explain the history behind the products as well as helping you choose between the soaps and scents. The store opens from 10am until 7pm Monday to Saturday and from midday until 6pm on Sundays.
