About MASA Tacos
MASA Tacos makes its own tortillas from Mexican heirloom corn at its counter inside Seven Dials Market on Earlham Street. The family-run business trades under the line "disciples of flavour", and the search for the right tortilla is the thing its founders describe as having become an obsession.
KERB's food team first spotted MASA at a Clapham market in 2023, when it was operating from a gazebo. It grew into a taco truck, a vintage Citroen H van that is still available for private hire, local markets and festivals, and then into the permanent Covent Garden pitch. The kitchen combines British produce with Mexican chillies and spices, and cooks its barbecued chicken over British sustainably sourced lumpwood charcoal to get a crisp finish.
Tacos at Seven Dials Market
Tacos lead the menu, loaded with slow-cooked barbacoa beef, grilled chicken, portobello mushrooms and rotating specials, with burritos and rice bowls filling out the rest. Because the tortillas are pressed on site from nixtamalised heirloom corn rather than bought in, the MASA Tacos Seven Dials counter runs closer to a working kitchen than a reheating station. An allergen list is published on the company's own site.
What to expect on a visit
The counter opens later than the market on some days and earlier on Saturdays, running until eleven at night from Wednesday to Saturday, which makes it one of the later options in the building. Order at the counter and eat at the communal tables. See the full trader line-up at Seven Dials Market, or browse other restaurants in Covent Garden.
