The Conduit

A community of changemakers in a listed Langley Street clubhouse

About The Conduit

The Conduit is a private members' club on Langley Street in Covent Garden that describes itself as a global community of changemakers committed to a just and sustainable future. Its stated mission is to convene, inspire and catalyse action on the world's most urgent challenges, and it gathers its members year-round at this central London clubhouse to connect and collaborate.

Members include sustainability professionals, social entrepreneurs and SME owners, investors and philanthropists, creatives, business leaders, non-profit and NGO professionals, civil society leaders and policymakers. The Conduit Foundation and a Solutions Agenda extend the club's work beyond its walls, and an annual impact report is published. Membership is by application, and the club notes it is home to optimistic and progressive causes rather than a conventional social club.

The Grade II listed building spreads across several floors. The Forum on the first floor hosts the conferences, panels and workshops that make up the core of the impact events programme, which runs to more than 150 events a year with speakers from politics, industry, academia and the arts. The second floor holds the Nobel Lounge, a cafe-style space set against The Conduit bookshop, with private rooms and a podcast studio, while Ubuntu on the third floor is a lounge that becomes a cocktail bar from 6pm. At the top, the rooftop restaurant serves Northern Italian food under an all-seasons pergola with views across London.

What to expect on a visit

Access is for members and their guests, but prospective members can book an Open Day from 3pm, an Open Evening from 6pm or a 30-minute private tour on weekdays between 7am and 7pm. The club opens 7am to 11pm from Monday to Thursday, 7am to midnight on Friday and 10am to 11pm on Saturday, closing on Sunday. It is the most purpose-led of the private members' clubs in Covent Garden, a world away in style from The Garrick Club on Garrick Street.
