Udderlicious
Handmade ice cream and vegan sorbets at Seven Dials
About Udderlicious
Udderlicious is an independent ice cream parlour on Earlham Street, a few steps from the Seven Dials junction in Covent Garden. Everything sold here, from the ice cream to the vegan sorbets, is made by hand in-store, and a rotating flavour of the month keeps the counter changing through the year.
The business is owned by a married couple, Raj and Raj, who have worked in ice cream for more than 35 years. They spent years adapting recipes and learning from ice cream makers in Reading and Nottinghamshire before opening the first Udderlicious on Upper Street in Islington, and the Seven Dials parlour followed, with further shops in Crouch End and Camden. The commitment is to quality ingredients and small-batch production rather than scale.
Handmade ice cream at Seven Dials
The shop sits on the western side of Covent Garden, in a pocket of independent shops and restaurants that is noticeably calmer than the Market Building. The range covers classic dairy flavours, richer mix-ins and a choice of vegan sorbets, served in cones or tubs, with ice cream cakes available to order from the group. The flavour of the month is usually the thing to ask about first.
What to expect on a visit
Expect a short queue on warm evenings, generous scoops and the chance to try before you choose. The parlour opens from midday until late seven days a week, which makes it a natural stop after dinner or a show. It is one of the best-known dessert shops in Covent Garden for anyone who prefers an independent maker, and sits on the same street as the Seven Dials shops and restaurants that make this corner worth a wander.
