Parker Mews is a small mews off Parker Street on the eastern side of Covent Garden, near the boundary with Holborn. It is a short, enclosed cul-de-sac of the kind common in central London, originally serving the buildings on the surrounding streets and now given over to a mix of small commercial and residential use. The mews is quiet and tucked away, with modest low-rise buildings enclosing a narrow surface used mainly by those with business there. Foot and vehicle traffic is light and largely local, and the space has the sheltered, private feel typical of a mews set back from the busier streets. There are no notable landmarks along its length, and its interest lies in its role as one of the many small backwaters that survive within the district's street pattern. Its position off Parker Street places it close to Great Queen Street and Kingsway, within a short walk of Holborn and Covent Garden Underground stations. Parker Mews forms part of the quieter, more residential fringe on the eastern side of Covent Garden, away from the retail and theatre crowds. It is a good example of the small enclosed mews spaces that give this part of London much of its texture.
