About Fabrique
Fabrique is a Swedish bakery on Earlham Street, a few steps from the Seven Dials junction in Covent Garden. Founded in Stockholm by Charlotta Zetterström, the company now bakes in Stockholm, London and New York, and has held the title of Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden since 2024.
The concept is described as simple but far from ordinary: only fresh, natural ingredients and traditional methods go into the artisanal sourdough and pastries, and the bakery works with local producers for its raw materials. Its motto, bread and butter is forever, sums up the approach. Earlham Street is one of six Fabrique bakeries in London, with the others in Hoxton, Fitzrovia, Holborn, Notting Hill and Chelsea.
A Swedish bakery in Covent Garden for buns and sourdough
The draw is the cardamom buns and cinnamon buns, hand-twisted and finished with pearl sugar, alongside sourdough loaves and a changing selection of pastries. Fabrique opens from early morning to late afternoon, serving breakfast, lunch, fika and afternoon coffee, and orders can be placed online for next-day collection at the shop or delivery to your door.
What to expect on a visit
Expect a traditional bakery counter rather than a broad all-day cafe, with the fullest choice earlier in the day. The Earlham Street shop opens from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 6pm at weekends. Seven Dials rewards browsing on foot, and a Scandinavian bakery sits naturally among its independent shops. For more Covent Garden bakeries, the French and Asian viennoiserie at Arôme Bakery on Mercer Street is two minutes away.
